JAGATSINGHPUR Feb 11. Unidentified miscreants on Sunday opened fire on two cattle merchants and snatched Rs4.30 lakh from them, the incident occurred at Taladanda canal embankment near Jaipur under Raghunathpur block area. Reports said that the victim merchants have been identified as Kallam Uddin Khan and Subash Swain hailing from Sukarpada village under Nischintakoali block under Kendrapada district sustained bullet injuries following miscreants attack and now undergoing treatment in SCB Medical College and hospital Cuttack . duo merchants were on way to Jagatsinghpur on Sunday with cash for purchasing cattle when two bike borne goons waylaid them in the Taladanda canal embankment, the pillion rider started firing indiscriminately to them, two bullets smashed Kallam Uddin who fell down at the spot then the miscreants snatched the money bag by brandishing revolver before him and fled from the spot. Local people rescued duo victims and shifted them to Raghunathpur hospital for treatment from where both sent to SCB Medical College and hospital, cuttack for treatment on Sunday late night. District superintendent of police S B Bhoi said a man hunt has been launched to trace the snatchers; it seemed to be a pre planned operation when the miscreants were aware about duo victim merchant’s movement and committed the crime. Moreover the incident came two day after when few miscreants alleged firing in Jagatsinghpur town spreading terror in to locality later police have arrested one miscreant and others still at large.
