CSK batted first and managed to do a score of 131 for five wickets, thanks to Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s unbeaten fifty, skipper Ravindra Jadeja (26 not out), and Robin Uthappa (28). Dhoni, who was playing without the captain’s armband for the first time in 12 seasons, smashed seven fours and a six in 38 balls.
In response, KKR chased down the target, scoring 133 for four in 18.3 overs. Umesh Yadav took (2/20), Varun Chakravarthy (1/23), and Andre Russell (1/38) for KKR. For CSK Dwayne Bravo took 3 for 20 in his four overs and Mitchell Santner took 1 for 31.
