Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik expressed deep grief at the death of two persons in the collapse of a portion of the old Chhatra Bazar Bridge in Cuttack on Wednesday.
He conveyed his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and announced an ex gratia of Rs 3 lakh for the next of the kin of the deceased.
The Chief Minister directed the best medical treatment be provided to the injured and wished them a speedy recovery.
He has also ordered an RDC-level inquiry into the circumstances leading to this incident, the CMO stated.
