Venkata Satyanarayana Prabhas Raju Uppalapati or Prabhas is an Indian actor who primarily works in Telugu cinema. He was born on 23 October 1979. He made his acting debut in the 2002 Telugu drama Eeswar. He got his breakthrough in the 2004 romantic action film Varsham. Some of his notable films are Chatrapathi (2005), Bujjigadu (2008), Billa (2009), Darling (2010), Mr. Perfect (2011), and Mirchi (2013).
For his performance in Mirchi, he won Nandi Award for Best Actor. In 2015 he starred in S. S. Rajamouli’s epic action film Baahubali: The Beginning, which became the ninth-highest-grossing Indian film to date. He also acted in the Bahubali sequel Baahubali 2: The Conclusion which became the first Indian film to earn Rs. 1000 crores in ten days and become the second highest-grossing Indian film to date.
