JAGATSINGHPUR Aug 28. Two unnatural death cases were reported in two different locations in Jagatsinghpur district on Wednesday, report said that one septuagenarian man Golekha Parija a resident of Baradia village under Baisimouza area had gone to paddy field collecting green grass where he came contact with live electric wire which was fallen under earth. Residents rescued from the spot and sent him to hospital for treatment where doctor declared him brought dead. Police seized dead body and performed legal formalities.
In another incident a middle aged farmer Raghu Mandal hailing from Padmapur village under Erasama block died on spot when lightning struck over him while he was working in paddy field. Erasama police seized dead body and registered an unnatural death case, locals have demanded giving compensation to the deceased kinas he was only bread earner for the family. [Ends]

Two alleged illegal liquor vendors arrested.

JAGATSINGHPUR Aug 28. The excise department flying squad on Wednesday arrested two alleged illegal liquor vendors and seized huge quantity of liquors under their possession from several locations from the Jagatsinghpur district. Acting on a tip off excise sleuths raided one Bata Krushna Swain residence at Chasikhanda village under Baisimouza area and recovered about 152 bottles of foreign liquor allegedly stored for sale, as the liquor possessor identified as illegal liquor vendor of the locality excise men arrested him from spot forwarded to court. In similar raid conducted by flying squad Cuttack division led by Excise inspector Rama Chandra Mishra picked up one Alekha Bhoi an illegal liquor vendor from Tarikunda village eight km away from here and seized huge quantity of country band liquor stored in his residence. Two excises cases have been registered against both accused men and forwarded them to court, informed excise inspector Mr Mishra. [Ends]

Abducted college girl rescued.

JAGATSINGHPUR Aug 28. A teen aged girl from Haladiapada village under Biridi block who was reading in Ananta Bata Mahavidyalaya had abducted by few anti socials three days ago but prompt police action has brought success rescuing the girl and arresting one accused anti social on Tuesday . Report said that the victim girl’s parents had lodged an FIR at Biridi police station stating the incident after occurrence and police took the matter seriously and launched a man haunt. taking clues from the victims kin a police team had moved to Sambalpur where the girl and one accused Sujan Das had picked up from Hirakuda police limits and brought them to Jagatsinghpur on Tuesday, police presented both accused and victim in magistrate court, following court order conducted duo’s medical examination in head quarters hospital here on Wednesday, meanwhile investigation has started arresting another two accused persons involved in the incident, informed IIC Biridi police station. Husband and kin held in dowry death case.

JAGATSINGHPUR Aug 28. Acting on a dowry death incident Paradeep police have picked up alleged husband and his mother involved in the crime on Tuesday. Report said that one Nihar Ranjan Sahoo a resident of Atharabanki had married Rajashree years back, the marriage had performed as Hindu rituals and the bride had brought sufficient dowry as settled by the in-laws family during marriage. It was reportedly informed by the Rajashree to her parents that she has been falling under victim of dowry torture, the in laws family was asking here brining more dowry and sum of Rs 1Lakh. The matter was unresolved by Rajashree’s parents as consequence she had been tortured both mentally and physically regularly. Surprisingly Rajashree went ill on Monday and immediately shifted to the Hospital for treatment where she succumbed to her illness. After the news reached Rajashree’s family they reacted sharply saying she had been killed by in-laws family members, latter deceased Rajashree’s brother had lodged an FIR in Paradeep police station acting on the complaint police picked up husband Nihar Ranjan Sahoo and his mother allegedly involved in the crime, police said.
