Man held for raping minor girl.
JAGATSINGHPUR Mar 30. Police on Friday picked up a middle aged man Siva Shankar Das alias Bapi hailing from Taradapada village six km away from here on the charge against him raping a minor girl from the same village. Report said that the alleged accused on the eve of Holi celebration lured the victim trivial girl paying Rs 12 for purchasing colour, then took her to an isolate location on the village outskirts and raped her. The victim told her parents about the incident who lodged an FIR in Jagatsinghpur police station, cops took prompt action and arrested the accused man from village and sent the victim girl for conducting her medical examination at district headquarters hospital. Lawyers boycott works demanding establishment of sub judge court.
JAGATSINGHPUR Mar 30. Demanding establishment of sub judge court at Kujanga the legal professionals including lawyers from the local bar association on Saturday boycotted works and went on strike. Report said that the Kujanga bar association and its members have been demanding to start a sub judge court in Kujanga since years; in this regard Odisha high court and state law department were aware about the fact and regularly lawyers have been apprising state government to act on their claim, sadly state government has been ignoring our demand in spite of all infrastructures were available starting the court, protesting the matter we decided to go on agitation from Saturday until our demands are met, informed Sushant Patnaik, local bar association secretary .
