Trade union leaders to Ghero Tirtol police station, demanding arrest of culprit.

JAGATSINGHPUR Apr 5. Several trade unions and its members including leaders on Friday held an urgent meeting at Paradeep and decided to Ghero Tirtol police station protesting police in action arresting the culprits involved demolishing boundary wall of veteran trade union leader and PPT trust board member Sudhakar Mantry’s house at Rahama.

Report said that few anti socials under leadership of one Pramod Sahoo alias Pamuna hailing from Talapada village near Kujanga on 31 March had allegedly entered Mr Mantry’s residence at Rahama and asked him to remove the boundary wall that erected back side of his house. Mr Mantry apprised Pamuna and his associates that he occupies legal possession of the land where he has erected the boundary wall but the answer did not satisfy the visiting anti socials they forcibly demolished the boundary wall.

After the occurrence the septuagenarian trade union leader had lodged an FIR in Tirtol police station against Pamuna and his associates stating the incident, ironically police have become unable to arrest the culprits as on date. Meanwhile victim trade union leader has apprised district superintendent of police and senior police officers and collector seeking their help for arresting the culprits but less resulted. Protesting the incident several trade union leaders converged a meeting at Paradeep on Friday and fumed against the police and decided to Ghero Tirtol police station on 8 April, informed Ananta Das, secretary Paradeep port and dock workers union.

Kujanga lawyers end cease work.

JAGATSINGHPUR Apr 05. Lawyers and legal professionals of Kujanga court who had started indefinite strike one week ago demanding to start a sub judge court at Kujanga ended their stir on Thursday. The district judge Cuttack Satrughan Pujari on Wednesday visited Kujanga and held discussion with the agitating lawyers and inspected the ground realties for setting up a sub judge court there. After studying the fact district judge assured the lawyers he will take up the matter to hon,ble High court and concerned state law department and steps would be taken starting up the sub judge court at earliest. Relying the assurance given by District judge agitating lawyers ended their strike and joined works from Thursday , informed Sushanta Patnaik, Kujanga Bar association secretary. [Ends]

Priest dies in train mishap.

JAGATSINGHPUR Apr 05. A septuagenarian priest Dhruba Charan Nayak from Sarala temple near Tirtol died in a train mishap occurred on Wednesday. Report said that the deceased priest was returning from a Paradeep bound train from Cuttack to his native Kanakpur village, accidentally he fell down in his traveling berth and felt unconscious, He was immediately sent to hospital for treatment where he declared brought dead. Seviets and priests have condoled untimely death of the septuagenarian priest and held a condolence meeting inside the Sarala temple, Tirtol .
