Tapaswini-Sumit Case: The Orissa High Court today upheld the decision of a lower court ordering Dr. Sumit of Brahmanagar in Berhampur to pay Rs 17,000 maintenance to his wife Tapaswini by the 10th of every month.
On January 11, Sumit had filed a plea in the High Court against Berhampur district court’s order.
It may be mentioned that the district court had ordered Tapaswini to live in Sumit’s paternal house in Bramhanagar and asked him to pay Rs 17,000 every month as maintenance.
The HC has scheduled the next hearing to February 15.
