The Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) has decided to shut down all Covid Care Centres in the city from February 28 in view of the decline in the number of Covid cases.
Sources said that the BMC has already issued notices to close Covid wings of Hitech Medical College & Hospital and KIMS Medical College & Hospital in Bhubaneswar.
The number of Covid beds at SUM Hospital will be reduced to 70, sources added.
The State on Friday reported 345 fresh Covid cases during the last 24 hours which included 202 quarantine cases and 143 local contact cases.
