Non Govt 662 college lecturers and employees association rally for demands

JAGATSINGHPUR Feb 12. The All Odisha 662 Non Government lecturers and Employees Association, its Jagatsinghpur unit accompanied by students from these colleges staged demonstration and protest meeting in front of district collector office here on Tuesday. The protestors claimed implementing New Grant in Aid policy for them and eradication of block grant system including correction of anomalies surfaced in the Government Order issued in the year 2008.

Association members took out a rally from College square here and converged at collector office parade ground and held demonstration and protest meeting. The agitating lecturers and non teaching staff fumed that we are agitating since 29 January by boycotting classes meanwhile resorting state level stir at Bhubaneswar pressing our demands new grant in aid for our category teachers and non teaching staff including to stop the block grant system including other benefits, ironically state government has done little to address our demands , there have been only assurance said Sudhir Mohanty district coordinator and state joint secretary of association. Mohanty added the state government has done much discrimination in the Grant in Aid -2008 policy for the 662 category colleges comparing grant in aid policy meant for the 488 category colleges which is unfair and unjust and discriminatory in nature and demanded immediate correction of this anomalies, he claimed.

In a memorandum addressed to state chief minister Naveen Patnaik the association of the agitating teachers pressed 6 demands mainly meant for their remuneration and service constancy, later sub collector received the memorandum from the agitating teachers and the agitation was called off.
