Debabrata Nayak of Odisha has been appointed Chief Technology Officer at Digital India Corporation, the organization that spearheads the Digital India initiative.
Nayak joined Digital India after taking voluntary retirement from National Informatics Centre (NIC), where he was a senior technical director. He has also served in National eGovernance Division (NeGD), a unit of Digital India, till very recently.
He has built popular government applications such as DigiLocker, National Data Exchange, and for scaling up Cowin.
In NeGD, Nayak was responsible for applications like Umang, Poshan Tracker for the Anganwadi program, among others.
