Kujanga cracker explosion deceased and injured victims kin compensated.

JAGATSINGHPUR Apr 25. Two years after five persons died and about 3 others injured in the fire cracker blast incident at Kujanga , the state SC&ST welfare board compensated the deceased and injured victims kin on Thursday.
There were wide spread shout that who were died and injured in the incident have been leading very miserably lives in penury sans and help from the state government had sought by several Dalit organization and different political parties.
Responding the matter state SC&ST welfare board sanctioned Rs3.75 Lakh to the kith and kin of each deceased and Rs 1 Lakh each for the injured persons, and district administration had asked the families of both the deceased and injured to submit necessary documents for receiving the compensation amount from district welfare officer.
Acting on the event families of three deceased and three injured had approached district welfare officer receiving the compensation with required documents but two deceased families did not furnish documents.
Taking action district welfare officer gave away the compensation amount to families of deceased Pituna Patra and Phakira Patra from Kothiasahi village including another deceased Bijan Jena from Ghodamara village. The families of injured as Sukanta Gochayat from Kothiasahi village, Kelu Jena and Jitu Patra from Ghodamara village were received Rs 1 Lakh each towards compensation.
However relatives of two deceased like Kailash Jena from Chikinia village and Pramod Jena from Garadapur village denied compensation as they did not submit documents in time but they can be compensated later once they could fulfill the administration legal papers, informed Sarat Kumar Sahoo, district welfare officer.
To refresh readers mind on November 16, 2011, crackers exploded in a procession of Biju Patnaik workers Union which was being organized by the BJD legislator of Cuttack- Barabati Devasish Samantray and Jagatsinghpur MLA Bishnu Das. The BJD leaders were going in a procession to attend a trade union meeting at Paradeep when the crackers taken in a mini truck exploded at Kujanga Bazar, the victims were aboard the truck sustained severe injuries later five succumbed due to their injures and three injured were admitted in hospital for treatment.
Compensation for the families of deceased and injured had time and again been sought by few Dalit organization and leaders from several political parties including state ruling BJD. Though police had registered cases against MLA Devashis Samantray and other BJD leaders under section 147, 148, 337 and 338 and 34 IPC and section 9 of Indian Explosive Act but no arrest has been made yet and investigation is moving very snail pace when cops have been failed to submit charge sheet in court, sources added. Alleged murder acquitted by court for want of evidences.

JAGATSINGHPUR Apr 25. The sensational Jayashree Moharana murder case verdict came out on Thursday, adjudicating the case the additional district judge here acquitted the sole alleged accused Gajendra Ojha one of the relative of the deceased for want of evidences and direct probe however court observed prosecution failed to probe the guilty of the alleged accused.
On September 16, 2011, Jayashree Moharana hailing from Tarikunda village was found dead at Machhagaon canal embankment near Chandagada six km away from here with throat slit, police after registering a murder case picked of Gajendra Ojha one of the relative of the deceased girl and forwarded him to court and the trail was started in additional district judge court here.
During trail prosecution had furnished evidences and witnesses against the alleged accused man putting him guilty and committing the murder but that did not satisfy the judge as consequence he acquitted the accused man. [Ends]
