JAGATSINGHPUR May 02. The international labours day was celebrated in a official function held in side collector office here on Wednesday, collector S K Mallick inaugurated the function. Additional district judge, additional district magistrate, sub judge, district legal aid secretary, labour officer, lawyer R K Khatua, labour leader Pradipta Ram were spoke on the occasion and discussed issues related to several labour laws and its implementation. Sub collector B B Bhola proposed vote of thanks distribution of compensation to several deceased and injured labourers were followed after the meeting by the district collector. [Ends]

HSC results recorded 76% in Jagatsinghpur .

JAGATSINGHPUR May 02. The matriculation results declared on Tuesday brought cheers among the guardians of jagatsinghpur district as this year the recorded a pass percentage of 76% which is all time records than the previous years. Of the 17,573 students who appeared in the HSC examination in 77 examination centers as regular students , 13,222 students have cleared the examination, while 3143 students have passed in first division, 4092 and 5987 students secured second and third division respectively . Likewise as many as 1708 students have appeared HSC examination as ex regular category from them 612 students have cleared examination and pass percentage is 36%. District officials are were more than satisfied with the fact that for the first time in history district HSC results has received 76%, the results are very encouraging, we had taken steps like streamlining schools management and providing special care to needy students, our officials monitored academic activities throughout the session, I personally visited most of the schools to take of the situation, so we got a very high-quality results this year, informed circle inspector of schools. Rape victim hospitalized after attempting suicide.

JAGATSINGHPUR May 02. An alleged rape victim from Chakulipada village under Naugaon area was admitted in district headquarters hospital here while she was attempted committing suicide. Report said that the victim girl was raped by one of her relative on 28 April in this regard a complaint was lodged at Naugaon police station subsequently but till date police did not take any step arresting the alleged accused person, meanwhile few villagers and cops are mounting pressure on the victim girls family to resolve the matter amicably. The incident frustrated the victim girl who consumed deadly pesticide and felt unconscious later moved to Naugaon hospital for treatment where her condition turned critical on Wednesday later shifted to district headquarters hospital immediately. Times Gurukula hosts first anniversary.

JAGATSINGHPUR May 02. Times Gurukula , a residential school functioning in side ITI Taradapada premises here celebrated its first anniversary on Monday, Sub collector B B Bhola inaugurated the function . Speaking on the event attending guests spelled out importance of the residential school in recent time for up building children’s preliminary learning stronger. Times Gurukula director Rashmi Ranjan Mishra described his adversity starting this school one year ago, school principal Jagada Nanda Achary read the inaugural speech , among others Himanshu Acharya , film actor Biren Mishra, lyricist Ranjan Gaon, attended as guests . Anjusha , Sandhya rani Acharya and Saroj Diwadi co ordinate the function, and a cultural programme was followed after the meeting. [Ends]

Kujanga Mohatsava ends.

JAGATSINGHPUR May 02. The three day long Kujanga Mohatsava started at Kujanga Hat concluded on Wednesday, state Panchayat raj minister Kalpataru Das attended the occasion as chief guest including health minister and local MLA Damodar Rout , Paradeep municipality chairperson, Kujanga block chairman were present on the event. Several personalities serving in different fields were felicitated by the chief guest and a souvenir was released in the eve of the Mohatsava later cultural programme Ghumura Nacha was performed by artists from Kalahandi district.
