Health director begins probe in to Biridi hospital woman health worker suicide incident.

JAGATSINGHPUR July 28. The state health department director Dr Nalini Kanta Das on Saturday visited Biridi upgraded health centre and began the probe in to the alleged woman health worker’s suicide incident occurred there three weeks ago. Report said that one woman health worker Kalpana Swain who was working in Biridi hospital since 20 years was got transferred but she did not buy the district health department order and approached to Chief District Medical Officer [CDMO], Jagatsinghpur Dr Bijaya Kumar Sahoo seeking modification of the said transfer order. But her request did not consider as consequence the woman health worker committed suicide after setting fire on her body latter succumbed to her injuries at SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack, the incident had created hue and cry among the Biridi hospital staff including local Acting on the matter CDMO Jagatsinghpur had conducted an investigation as disciplinary action had transferred the hospital medical officer Dr Rashmi Ranjan Patnaik but pressure mounted conducting an impartial probe over the entire episode, responding the locals demand state health director Dr Nalini Kanta Das visited Biridi hospital and began the probe, the visiting director interacted with Biridi helath staff, CDMO, Jagatsinghpur and former medical officer Dr Rashmi Ranjan Patnaik including few locals however sources added CDMO revealed before the health director saying that he was unaware receiving any representation for the deceased health worker Kalpana Swain seeking to withheld her transfer order. Moreover visiting health director Dr Das expressed his reservation saying details about his probe however assured a complete investigation report would be submitted before state health secretary who will take appropriate action if someone found guilty in the incident, health director Dr Das told local scribes during his visit. Armed miscreants robbed Rs 2.5 lakh from business man.

JAGATSINGHPUR July 28. A cement and animal fodder business man Luna Satapathy hailing from Tertanga village under Balikuda area came under wrath of few armed miscreants who robbed about a sum of Rs 2.5 lakh from the victim on Saturday night at Tertang Bazar. The business man was returning home on the occurrence night when three bike borne goons waylaid him and one of the pillion rider hit the business man who went unconscious taking the advantage the miscreants snatched the cash bag carrying about Rs 2.5 lakh. The victim business man was rescued by few residents of the locality and sent him to Balikuda hospital where he is undergoing treatment and his health condition is stated to be stable. Meanwhile inspector in charge Balikuda police said a man hunt has been launched to trace the snatchers; it seemed to be a pre planned operation in which the outlaws were stalking the movements of the victim business man we are questioning the victim and meanwhile have gathered few vital clues reaching the fugitive miscreants, IIC informed. Under trail intimidates victim from jail.

JAGATSINGHPUR July 28. An under trail alleged accused Janardan Swain alias Jubulu who resides in Alipingala sub jail on the charge of physically assaulting his sister in law has dispatched a intimidating post card letter from jail to victim woman contemplating to take stern action once he released from the jail. The victim woman after receiving the letter has approached district superintendent of police seeking her security ironically police yet to take any step, rued victim woman’s husband Sisira Swain. Report said that the alleged accused on 4 May had brutally attacked his sister in law Diptimayi Swain by a sharp weapon owing a family dispute as result the victim woman had sustained multiple injuries in her body and after struggling for live at SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack one week ago has returned Raibarai village under Naugaon block. Meanwhile police have picked up the accused Jubulu and after rejection of his bail pleas at court now serving as an under trail at Alipingala sub jail. All as sudden on 22 July victim woman received a post card letter from Jubulu stating dire consequence she would face including her husband and two teen aged children once he released from the jail. The frightened victim woman and her husband after receiving the letter had approached district superintendent of police providing security but the request yet to be considered. Meanwhile report said that the alleged accused Jubulu’s bail pleas are undergoing active consideration at court at any movement he can released from the jail, so seeking protection for the family the victim woman and her husband have sought police action urgently failing this they would resort Dharana in front of SP office from here from 5 August, the victim woman’s husband told scribes here on Saturday.
