Green card holders stage Rasta Roka, seek Govt benefits.

JAGATSINGHPUR  Aug 22. Following the call by the Odisha Green Card holder’s organization its Jagatsinghpur unit staged Rasta Roka and demonstration at Dak Bunglow Chhak  on the outskirts of Jagatsinghpur demanding fulfillment of their demands and availing several government benefits. Their demands included as giving Rs 1000 monthly pension, land for the landless, easy housing loan, reservation in government job and health insurance for the families those have adopted family planning measures and obtained green card. The agitation was disrupted traffic movement on Cuttack- Jagatsinghpur state highway as consequence police armed with magistrate rushed to the spot and held discussion with agitators, latter a women team led by Minarva Mohanty , Sasmita Jena , Kanak Lata Mohanty met additional district magistrate and submitted a memorandum. HRPC submitted final report over Minister Damodar Rrout’s caste remarks.  

JAGATSINGHPUR  Aug 22. The district Human Rights Protection Cell [HRPC] on Thursday submitted the final reports at judicial magistrate court here pertaining caste remarks delivered by state health minister Damodar Rout in a social function held at Paradeep town one year ago. Minister Rout had dragged under controversy  while he had uttered anti caste remarks against Jagatsinghpur MP Bibhu Prasad Tarai, MLA Bishnu Das ,then a petition was moved before National SC & ST Commission and one Manoj Patra had lodged an FIR at Paradeep police station acting on the complaint police had delivered the case to district HRPC for conducting a probe, after taking evidences and witnesses of about 34 persons , HRPC Deputy superintendent of police Bamadev Singh submitted the final report in court and it will take up for hearing for adjudication next week, court sources added. 19 BJD candidates filed nomination papers for ULB polls in Jagatsinghpur.

JAGATSINGHPUR Aug 22. As many as 19 candidates from BJD filed their nomination papers before sub collector for the forth coming urban local body polls for Jagatsinghpur municipality on Thursday , report said that municipality consists with 21 councilors about 27 candidates have filed nominations till Thursday . BJD candidates led by senior MLA Bishnu Das reached at sub collector office here on Thursday afternoon after party supporters hosted a massive rally that covered entire Jagatsinghpur municipal locality shouting slogan in favour of BJD and chief minister Naveen Patnaik’s ongoing pro developmental measures across the state and converged at collector’s parade ground here . speaking at the party workers gathering MLA Bishnu Das expressed satisfaction and said the rally and massive congregation of BJD sympathizers show that again BJD will capture Jagatsinghpur municipality on the ongoing ULB polls and he asked party men to work untidily, later he told  to local scribes that party’s other two nominees will file nomination on Saturday .
