JAGATSINGHPUR July 07. Hundreds of CPI and left party supporters including few conscious citizens on Saturday staged Dharana and protest meeting in front of Community Health Centre [CHC] in Kujanga and protestors demanded providing good health facility from the hospital. The demands of the protestors included as establishment of a blood bank and x-ray Laboratory, supply of snake and dog bite vaccines and up gradation of the hospital including filling up vacant doctor posts in hospital. CPI leader Hrushikesh Nath who led the agitation spelled out that the hospital comes under assembly constituency of state health minister Damodar Rout but he ever paid any attention developing the pitiable condition of the hospital, last year a fund amounting Rs 72 Lakh had sanctioned for conducting up gradation and development of Kujanga hospital ironically the tender procedure yet to be completed, owing tender fixing the work yet to be begun, he fumed.
Responding the Dharana and protest meeting by left party activists, Chief District Medical Officer [CDMO]Dr Bijaya Kumar Sahoo accompanied by Kujanga Tahasildar Ravindra Nath Kaunra rushed to the Dharana site and held discussion with agitators and assured their demands wound be fulfilled within fifteen days, then the agitation was called off. 2 stolen bikes recovered, 4 arrested.
JAGATSINGHPUR July 07. Police on Saturday arrested 4 persons and recovered at least two stolen bikes under their possession, the alleged bike lifters were identified as Pabitra Samal from Mandasahi village, Sangram Swain from Sadeipur village, and Bapi Maiti and Debabrata Tripathy from Erasama and Kujanga area. Police said two days ago three persons were picked up in bike lifting incident and collecting clues from them police reached these four bike stealers, they were habitual criminals and stealing bikes from different areas. Meanwhile many people those had victimized losing bikes in stolen incidents earlier had converged at Jagatsinghpur police station on Sunday, police have launched further investigation. [Ends]
Girl raped by lover’s friends in Kujanga .
JAGATSINGHPUR July 07. A girl hailing from Kankaradia village under Kujanga area has lodged a complaint at Kujanga police station stating she has been raped by her lover’s friends three days ago. The victim girl stated in her complaint that she was traveling with her lover Narayan Swain on Wednesday, both had reached at Badabandha railway station boarding a Cuttack bound train but they missed the train, later Narayan believed returning home uncomfortable and moved to one of his friend’s house at Balitutha, where both stayed at night. Surprisingly Narayan and his lover faced misfortune at night, the friend Jagannath Malla and his associate Sanjaya Behera allegedly entered the house where both Narayan and his lover had rested immediately tied Narayan in a rope and took away the lover girl to a deserted location where duo raped her, the victim girl’s complaint stated. Acting on the complaint police have sent the victim girl for conducting medical examination and detained Narayan and further investigation has started to nab the alleged two rapists, police said.
