JAGATSINGHPUR May 05. Few unidentified anti socials on Saturday night hurled three bombs at Abhidananda village under Odisha Panchayat seven km away from here. Report said that the antisocial reached residence of one Sadasiva Swain and threw three bombs, as result the front side of the house including main gate completely damaged , Sadasiva ‘s wife has sustained mild injuries following the attack, after hurling bombs the anti socials fled from the spot in a motor bike, according to the FIR lodged by the victim at police station. Meanwhile police have launched a manhunt to arrest the the fugitive anti socials and further investigation is on, police informed.
Baidahi TU celebrated International labours’s day.
JAGATSINGHPUR May 05. The international labours day was celebrated by Maa Baidahi Trade union a labour organization functioning on the outskirts of Paradeep port town. The function was held inside the trade union office building, Mr Ramesh Chandra Samantray advisor of the trade union presided the meeting, attending trade union sympathizers spelled out issues relating to several labour problems and prohibitory laws and its implementation with regard to protecting labourers. Dramatist Sudhakar Diwadi remembered in birth anniversary.
JAGATSINGHPUR May 05. The yester years eminent dramatist Sudhakar Dwadi was remembered in his birth anniversary in a remembrance function held at Swadhinata Sangrami Bhawan here on Saturday. Speakers attending the event discussed the manifold activities of late Sudhakar Diwadi during his living time for strengthening Drama and theatre in Odisha and about 20 significant Odia plays have been penned by the late Dramatist. Among others municipality chairman Madhu Sudan Sahoo, lecturer Himashu Acharya, Sudhansu Satapathy, Narayan Barik, Suresh Choudhury attended the function. Sudhakar Samman- 2013 was conferred to one dramatist Pramod Kumar Jena this year, Pranakrushna Nayak and Saroj Diwadi co ordinate the function. [Ends]
Druggist association to observe Bandha on 10 May.
JAGATSINGHPUR May 05. Responding all India Druggist association’s proposed Bandha on 10 May pressing 4 point charter of demands, district druggist association here held an emergency meeting on Saturday and decided to support the strike. Association president M M Tripathy informed as state Utkal Chemist and druggist association has supported the all India Bandha as a unit of the former association we decided to observe the Bandha, all medicine shops and distribution centers’ would be closed on that day while supply of life saving medicines and selling of medicines to emergency patients would be functioned normally on that day, Mr Tripathy said.
