Administration convenes meeting to resolve Posco impasses.

JAGATSINGHPUR Jan 05. As part of recent drive to woo and win the confidence of villagers going to be affected for the proposed Posco project , Jagatsinghpur district administration led by collector S K Mallick held a meeting with Gadakujanga villagers on Saturday with a motive to sort out the Posco impasses and early launching of the project work. The attending villagers informed in the meeting that they would not oppose the project work reiterated their old stance to fulfill the six point charter of demands and strict implementation of state government sponsored R&R policy meant for the industrial displacement, moreover few claimed immediate calling the RPDAC meeting. Collector replying villagers query said state government and Posco are ready to start the project work after redressing the villagers grievances and convening RPDAC meeting is not possible due to few legal reasons and all the promises given in the state R&R policy would be strictly implemented, he informed. Villagers led by Rajan Behera, Nakula Sahoo and Sampada Barik participated in the meeting and enquired the several issues affecting project work. [Ends]

 

IFFCO observes road safety week.

Jagatsinghpur Jan 05. 24th National Road Safety week was observed in IFFCO Paradeep Unit premises on Friday , unit head and senior general manager Mr S K Gandhi flagged off a Safety Rath and inaugurated manifold programmes for the occasion. The Safety Rath, will travel districts as Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapada, Khurda, Puri and Jajpur and spread the message with regard to road safety measures and a street play Sabdhan will be exhibit. While inaugurating the programme Mr Gandhi appealed all employees to follow the Road Safety Norms and traffic rules while driving vehicle Mr AK Sinha, Senior general manager AK Panda, PV Narayana, GM, RS Nair, DGM ( HR). Along with all Senior Officers of IFFCO were present on this occasion. Leaflets of road safety messages were also distributed among employees. This programme was co coordinated by Mr B.K. Sahoo, Manager (PR).
