5 houses gutted in to fire, 2 bullocks, 10 goats set ablaze.

JAGATSINGHPUR Sep 10. In major fire broke out in Safipur village under Babuijanga Panchayat 20 km away from here about five houses of two residents reduced to ashes, shockingly 2 bullocks and 10 goats set ablaze including few bovines sustained injuries and property worth lakhs gutted on Monday late night. Report said that the victim residents were identified as Babaji Sethy and Sankarshan Sethy, The fire first broke out from Babaji Sethy house on Monday night and engulfed his neighbor Sankarshan house, as the family members of both victims had slept no immediate step had taken dousing the fire latter villagers and fire personnel from Raghunathpur rushed to the spot and after six hours battle doused the fire and rescued the family members of the victims, since then property worth had reduced to ashes, preliminary probe has indicated the fire broke out from the one of the victim cowshed. Revenue officials and live stock personal had visited duo victim’s family on Tuesday and supplied gratitude relief and medicines for the injuried bovines. Local Sarpanch Milan Bhuyan has demanded giving compensation for the victims including providing IAY houses for them. [Ends]

15 Bangladeshi nationals returned home.

Acting on the appeal High court one week ago had passed judgment holding back the imprisonment period to two years and fine amount 10 thousand to 2 thousand for each accused person. As the accused 15 Bangaladeshi people had been served two years in jail after paying fine amount two thousand each they set free from Alipingala sub jail from 7 September, then resided in a guest house here after their embassy furnished all legal formalities they returned home on Monday.

Probe begins on post office funds embezzlement, alleged post master suspended.

JAGATSINGHPUR Sep 10. Acting on the complaint from depositors, postal department has started a probe on the large scale financial bungling occurred in Kundeswar post office under Naugaon block, in presence of police post office lock had broken on Monday and investigation officer had seized few documents and few pass books of victim depositors. Meanwhile the alleged post master Raghunath Rath who had gone underground after the incident has surrendered and postal department has suspended him and senior postal officials are interrogating him about the incident.

Report said that postal department has been serving an institution where usually people feel a safer place for saving money in grassroots level where bank facilities are unavailable. Hundreds of depositors from Kundeswar Panchayat had relied on their local Kundeswar post office since years and regularly were depositing money in saving accounts. But discrepancy happened two weeks ago a gullible depositor found his saving account has been committed fraud, his pass book had been manipulated showing lesser amount what he had actually deposited years ago, post master did not admit his claim then he moved to the Head post office Jagatsinghpur for verification where irregularities had noticed in the account, after the news reached village hundreds of depositors moved to post office verifying their accounts but post master had absconded locking the post office latter they had approached postal higher ups for seeking a probe.
