All Central Govt Employees to Attend Office; WFH Stopped

The Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) has resumed biometric attendance for office and stopped work from home for all employees of the Central government’s ministries and departments.

The order came into effect on February 16, 2022.

The order also said that officials have to follow all preventive measures to contain the spread of Novel Coronavirus (COVID19).

During the third wave of COVID-19 this year, the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances, and Pension had directed all the Central Ministries and Departments to reduce the office attendance by 50 percent.

Earlier, pregnant women employees and Divyang employees had been exempted from attending office while the physical attendance of the government servants below the level of Under Secretary was restricted to 50 percent of the actual strength, and the remaining 50 percent was working from home with the instruction that those working from home would remain available on the telephone and other electronic means of communications at all times.
