JAGATSINGHPUR July 21. About 4 unidentified miscreants on Saturday night looted Rs 4000 from a petrol pump at Taradapada on the outskirts of Jagatsinghpur town, report said that the miscreants snatched the cash bag by brandishing revolver before the petrol pump staff, earlier they reached petrol pump by two bikes and asked for petrol, after they filled up petrol did not pay the sum and started fleeing from the spot, petrol pump staff tried overpowering them but one of the pillion rider started open firing and others rushed to the petrol pump cash counter and snatched money from the cash box then fled away from the spot. The petrol pump owner lodged a complaint at Jagatsinghpur police station, inspector in charge Jagatsinghpur police station Sanjeev Mohanty said a man hunt has been launched to trace the snatchers and one person has been detained at police station but refused to divulge his identity affecting investigation, he informed. Villagers resort SP office Ghearo demanding arrest of culprits.
JAGATSINGHPUR July 21. Hundreds of villagers including few women on Saturday resorted district superintendent of police Ghearo and demanded arrest of culprits involved in a dowry torture incident. Report said that a dowry torture case was registered at Jagatsinghpur police station against two persons named as Jakhir and Tahir Hussun both resident of Samanga village six km away from here, police acted promptly and picked up duo alleged accused persons but paying less attention arresting the other kith and kin of the accused persons those were allegedly involved in the incident. Protesting the event the victim family including villagers resorted SP office Ghearo on Saturday, district superintendent of police held discussion with the agitated villagers and assured needful action would be taken against the culprits then the agitation was called off.
