JAGATSINGHPUR Jan 04. Hundreds of civil society members and local residents on Friday staged demonstration and protest meeting in front of collector’s office here accusing energy distribution company Enzen global and its act against anti consumer activities and demanded immediate cancellation of its contract with CESU. Civil society members under leadership of advocate Basudev and Hemanta Rath converged at collector’s parade ground on Friday afternoon and held a public meeting, speaking on the demonstration civil society members fumed against Enzen global and said past one and half year the concern energy distribution company is exploiting electric consumers of jagatsinghpur locality, ironically the parent energy supply organization CESU has been maintaining stupid silence over the public complaints. Citing a serious complaint the agitating civil society activists revealed that CESU is fetching 72 paisa per energy unit to Enzen global on turn Enzen claims same energy unit Rs 3.90 from consumer meanwhile no steps have been taken by the concern distribution company to develop the power distribution network and consumer friendly activity and infrastructural development, as consequence we demand immediate cancellation of the Enzen global contract, later a. memorandum was submitted to the district collector.
Veteran trade union leader passes away.
JAGATSINGHPUR Jan 04. A retired Paradeep port employee and veteran trade union leader Nimain Charan Panda passed away on Thursday following cardiac arrest in a private hospital at Bhubaneswar. Late Panda was 68 age and president of Paradeep port Sramika congress a trade union functioning in Paradeep past one decade. Several prominent personalities including trade union leader and trust board member Sudhakar Mantry, IOCL trade union leader Santosh Pattnaik, former Paradeep municipality chairman Govinda Tarai, environmentalist Sankha Nada Behera and Erasama – Paradeep development council chairman Bapi Sarkhel have condoled.
