JAGATSINGHPUR Jun 16. Acting on the numerous complaints lodged by depositors police on Saturday picked up AT group Jagatsinghpur branch head Akhila Kumar Lenka a resident of Murunia village. The alleged branch head has been accused siphoning about Rs 25 Crore from gullible depositors luring them in several schemes. However the king pin of the AT group Prashant Swain hailing from Radhanga village six km away from here who had been instrumental starting branch in several pockets of Jagatsinghpur district still absconded after the AT group furor erupted in state. Meanwhile hundreds of AT depositors from Jagatsinghpur , Paradeep , Kujanga had approached district superintendent of police seeking his help for returning their deposits, acting on the complaints police have referred the matter to the crime branch economic wing and sealed the AT group office and seized few documents at district headquarters and efforts are on to arrest the king pin Prashant Swain. However police received success arresting Akhila Kumar Lenka during interrogation he has admitted a land measuring 4 Acres in Singharapur village has been purchased by utilizing depositors money besides cops are taking efforts to collect information how the depositors money have been invested, police said [Ends]

JAGATSINGHPUR June 16. An alleged criminal Biswanath Patra hailing from Adhaanga garh under Biridi block who had been involved in a bomb hurling incident occurred at Adhnaga village three days ago was arrested by police on Saturday night, he was residing at Badamabadi area in Cuttack after the incident. Police informed that the alleged accused Biswanath had hurled bombs to one Zilla Parishad [ZP] member house at Adhanga owing to an irrigation department tender incident since then he was absconded from the village. The victim ZP member had lodged an FIR at Biridi police station and given clue that the alleged accused has been staying at Badambadi area, police utilized the clue and picked up the accused from there and forwarded to the court.
