He was born in a Kayastha family of Shri Sharada Prasad and Ramdulari Devi on October 2, 1904 at Mughalsarai, Uttar Pradesh, but lost his father when he was only one year old. He never used his surname “Srivastava”, because he fill it is a cast remark. When he was caught red handed by the gardener while his friends climbed the trees to pluck mangoes it was miracle of change occurred in his life. When the gardener started beating him, Shastriji pleaded to gardener to leave him as he was orphan. Seeing this, the gardener told him that, as a orphan you should learn better behavior. This incident made a dramatic change in his life and he swore to behave better in the future.
A whole hearted Indian
What a progressive Nation need , the person who know better is no other than our beloved best Prime Minister Lala Bahadur Shastri. He was the second Prime Minister of the Republic of India. Sashtriji was the hero of Indo-Pak war of 1965. When now a day’s people want to eradicate corruption but don’t want to enter into the politics, they should also learn , how a person can be successful in both the front honestly. Honesty always paid the price and also it was same to Shastriji. He died but truth regarding murder mystery remains in the dark. Neither he shy away from politics nor he leaves his honesty. He pray God from inside and not gone for marketing of God to gain popularity. Lord Rama in his heart and mother Seeta is his strength of truth and honesty.

During Indo –Pak war BBC falsely campaigned against Shastriji and declare Sastriji is anti muslim that’s why he go for war with Pakistan which is a Muslim country. Seeing this Sashtriji complained against BBC. Even though our so called Great leaders using religion openly to get political gain, but he was a real secularist who refused to mix religion with politics. In a public meeting held at the Ram Lila grounds in Delhi, a few days after the ceasefire, he stated
“While I am a Hindu, Mir Mushtaq who is presiding over this meeting is a Muslim. Mr. Frank Anthony who has addressed you is a Christian. There are also Sikhs and Parsis here. The unique thing about our country is that we have Hindus, Muslims, Christians, Sikhs, Parsis and people of all other religions. We have temples and mosques, gurdwaras and churches. But we do not bring all this into politics. This is the difference between India and Pakistan. Whereas Pakistan proclaims herself to be an Islamic State and uses religion as a political factor, we Indians have the freedom to follow whatever religion we may choose, and worship in any way we please. So far as politics is concerned, each of us is as much an Indian as the other.”
From this statement of Shastriji one can get clue how to get the love of the Indian public and Mother India not by advocating only Raam Raam or Krishna Krishna but giving heart to the Nation.
Salvation Inside
He is greatly influenced by the Indian and Western philosophy and led his life as a simply man with high moral values. In a strange incident when one of his daughters fell seriously ill then Shastrii was in Prison due to Civil Disobedience Movement call by Gandhiji in 1930. To see his daughter, the Jail Officer agreed to release Shastriji in exchange if the condition that , he should not participate in the freedom movement during his temporary release period, but he refused straightly because he think it will be a act of loss morality and self-respect. He led his life with great simplicity and honesty and was a great source of inspiration for all the countrymen. He resigned from Rail Ministry due to Rail accident in 1956 owning moral responsibility for the accident but his great work for reducing vast difference between 1st class and 3rd class Railway Journey still remembered as a mile stone of socialism for modern India.
War is a Act of Bravery not Violence
After division of Bharata Varsa a Hindustan(India) borne . Nehru lead India up to 1964. After the death of Jawaharlal Nehru in 1964, Lal Bahadur Shastri was unanimously elected as the Prime Minister of India. It was a difficult time both in social and security front . The country was facing huge challenges. In the security front Pakistan creating constant problems and there was food shortage in the country. When in 1965 the so called world leaders keeping gun on the Pakistan shoulder and help Pakistan to take advantage of India’s vulnerability and Pakistan attacked India then the real Bahadur show his mighty shoulder. Mild-mannered Lal Bahadur Shastri rose to the occasion and led the country ably. The soldiers who save the country from the invader and the farmers who provide food for life raising coined the slogan of “Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan”. Pakistan lost the war and Shastriji’s leadership was praised all over the world.
In January 1966, India and Pakistan signed a peace pact under Russian mediation to broker peace , Russia mediated a meeting between Lal Bahadur Shastri and Ayub Khan in Tashkent, Russia. Under the treaty India agreed to return to Pakistan all the territories occupied by it during the war. The joint declaration was signed on January 10, 1966 but on the same night Lal Bahadur Shastri not returned to India from Taskent . His death history remain a mystery till date. Even if he died but his famous slogan –“Jey Jawaan”, “Jey Kissan” gives us a new dimension for application of non–violence regarding country’s safety and security and making crocodile tear at suicide of farmers and encouraging FDI.
